Fajardo Law Offices is a full-service law firm founded in 1980 by Atty. Beda G. Fajardo originally to provide effective legal services to domestic and international clients in admiralty, maritime, insurance and immigration law. From its inception, the Firm built a strong reputation in admiralty and maritime practice, further enlarged by its global reach when Atty. Beda G. Fajardo became a member of the New York Bar and lone Filipino member of the prestigious Maritime Law Association of the United States as a proctor in admiralty. The distinction enabled the Firm to access a built-in network of correspondent law firms across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia-Pacific.
In the early years, the Firm distinguished itself when it handled and won in 1985, one of the largest if not the largest maritime insurance cases in the Philippines, successfully representing two leading domestic non-life insurance companies in recovering cargo (oil) losses against the local owners of a sunken tanker. In 2002, Atty. Beda Fajardo was appointed to an arbitration tribunal involving a high-profile cross-border oil transaction dispute between a Taiwanese seller and a Filipino buyer, underscoring the Firm’s continued prominence in maritime and commercial arbitration.
Building on this strong foundation, the Firm steadily evolved into a full-service practice, expanding into dispute resolution, construction, commercial and maritime arbitration, corporate housekeeping and governance, mergers and acquisition, cross-border transactions, information and communications technology (ICT), and regulatory advisory.
Today, Fajardo Law Offices is equally recognized nationwide for its leading practice in ICT law, with Data Privacy at the core of its advisory work.
