About Our Firm

The law firm was founded in 1980 by Beda G. Fajardo originally to provide effective services to domestic and international clients in admiralty, maritime, insurance and immigration law. The international network of the firm was enlarged when Beda G. Fajardo became a member of the New York Bar and lone Filipino member of the prestigious Maritime Law Association of the United States as a proctor in admiralty which provides a built-in network of correspondent law firms in all the States in America, U.K., Canada, Europe, Australia and Asia-Pacific. Thus, the law firm in coordination with a lawyer from South Yemen was able to resolve a new claim case against an ocean going vessel which got stranded in that country.
The firm is proud to have handled in 1985 one of the biggest if not the biggest maritime/insurance case in the country when it represented two leading domestic non-life insurance companies in recovering cargo (oil) loss in a sinking case against the local owners of the tanker. The firm won the court case which was settled later on by the carrier.
The law firm has expanded in construction and commercial arbitration, including maritime arbitration. In 2002 the managing partner of the firm was appointed member of an arbitration tribunal chained by an arbitrator from London to mediate between a Taiwanese seller of an oil taken and a Filipino buyer which was, however, settled before actual hearing started.
