INTRODUCTION

The law firm was founded in  1980 by Beda G. Fajardo originally to provide effective services to domestic and international clients in maritime, insurance and immigration law.  The international network of the firm was enlarged when Beda G. Fajardo became a member of the New York Bar, American Bar Association and lone Filipino member of the prestigious Maritime Law Association of the United States which provide built-in correspondents in all the States of the United States, U.K., Canada, Europe, Australia and  Asia-Pacific.

The firm is proud to have handled in 1985 one of the biggest if not the biggest maritime/insurance case in the country when it represented two leading domestic non-life insurance companies in recovering cargo (oil) loss in a sinking case against the local owners of the tanker.  The firm won the court case which was settled later on by the carrier.

The firm is very active in construction, maritime, and commercial arbitration.  Beda G. Fajardo has arbitrated  more than 30 construction cases and is presently arbitrating big maritime and commercial arbitration cases.  He is a member of the ICC Phils. Inc. which is the National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce and is therefore accredited to arbitrate international cases assigned by the ICC.

The firm is also active in immigration practice.  It handled the immigration needs of American President Lines’ expatriates before its management was Filipinized.  One of the partners had serviced before the immigration requirements of the foreign executives of U.S. Lines and GM Motors Philippines Inc.

A partner specializes in family law.  She is active in counseling and annulment cases which include the daughters of the owners of the biggest shopping mall in the country and an educational institution and foreigners married to Filipinas.

There are partners who deal with corporate matters, real estate, labor, intellectual property and general litigation.

Although comparatively small, the firm compensates what it lacks in number with highly personalized service to clients, as all clients are important and deserve no less.
